§ 5683 Homeless Mental Health Outreach

Key Takeaways

  • •This law helps homeless people with mental health problems by finding them housing, food, clothes, and money.
  • •It also teaches them skills for jobs and daily life, but only if they want to join.
  • •The goal is to keep them out of the hospital by giving them help when they need it.

Example

A person who is homeless and has anxiety might not know how to get food or a place to stay.

This law says workers will help them find a home, sign up for food stamps, and learn skills like cooking or filling out job applications—if the person wants the help.
