§ 5340 Controlled Substance Treatment Procedures

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about how to handle people who use drugs, like how to take care of them and help them get better.
  • •It does not mean that people who use drugs have a mental health problem.
  • •The law is just about making sure there are rules for helping these people, not about saying they are sick in the head.

Example

If someone is caught using drugs, the police might take them to a special place for help.

This law says there are rules for how to take care of that person and help them stop using drugs. It doesn't mean they are crazy or have a mental health problem.
