§ 4525 Council Member Conflict Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •People on the state council can't work for or be on the board of any place that gets state money to help people with developmental disabilities.
  • •Family members or guardians who get money to help their own family member with a disability are okay.
  • •People with disabilities who get help or money for their own services are also okay.
  • •Some special appointments don’t have to follow this rule.

Example

A mom gets paid by the state to take care of her son who has a developmental disability.

This mom can still be on the state council because the rule doesn’t apply to family members who get money to help their own child.
