§ 4008 Department Travel Expense Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The state can pay for work trips for employees who need to travel for their job.
  • •Trips must be for important work, like learning about mental health care or talking to other states about hospitals.
  • •The boss (Governor and Director of Finance) must say yes before the trip gets paid for.

Example

A doctor who works at a state hospital wants to go to a big meeting in another state to learn new ways to help patients with mental illness.

If the Governor and Director of Finance agree, the state will pay for the doctor's trip because it's for work and will help the hospital do a better job.
