§ 19802 Disability Definition Standards

Key Takeaways

  • •This law uses the same definition of 'disability' as a federal law called the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
  • •It means if someone has a disability under that federal law, they are also considered to have a disability under this law.
  • •The law was updated in 2016 to make sure this definition stays the same.

Example

A person who uses a wheelchair because they can't walk.

If the federal law says this person has a disability, then this state law will also say they have a disability.
