§ 18308 Domestic Violence Fund Allocation

Key Takeaways

  • •The county collects special fees for domestic violence programs.
  • •Up to 4% of the fees can be used for admin costs like handling the money.
  • •The rest of the money helps pay for programs that stop family violence, like counseling, police work, and court help.
  • •The money is shared with groups like schools, hospitals, and police to work together better.

Example

If someone pays a $100 fee for a marriage license, $4 can be used for office work like filing papers, and $96 goes to programs that help families stay safe.

The county keeps a small part of the fee to cover costs, and the rest helps fund services that protect families from violence.
