§ 15804 Aim-Linked Infants Coverage Termination

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about stopping a special health insurance program for kids called AIM-Linked Infants.
  • •The program stops when either October 1, 2013 happens, or when the State Department of Health Care Services starts a new program (Chapter 2).
  • •The Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board is in charge of stopping the coverage for these kids.

Example

Imagine a family has a baby who gets health insurance from the AIM-Linked Infants Program. One day, the family gets a letter saying the insurance will stop soon.

This happens because the state started a new program, so the old one (AIM-Linked Infants) is ending. The family needs to find new insurance for their baby.
