§ 1256 Youth Authority Stark School Powers

Key Takeaways

  • •The Youth Authority runs the Heman G. Stark Youth Training School like its other schools, but with some big rules.
  • •They can't let anyone out early, give time off, or move them to another school—only send them back to the Director of Corrections.
  • •Most prison rules still apply to people sent to this school from adult prison.

Example

A 19-year-old is sent from adult prison to the Heman G. Stark Youth Training School.

The school can't let him go on a weekend pass or move him to a different school. They can only send him back to adult prison when his time is up. He still has to follow the same rules as in adult prison.
