§ 9620 Flood Control Plan Implementation

Key Takeaways

  • •Once the board approves the plan, certain facilities become part of the flood control system.
  • •The board decides whether to remove some facilities from the State Plan of Flood Control.
  • •The department makes a schedule and funding plan to carry out the plan, working with local and federal agencies if needed.

Example

A town has old levees that are not strong enough to hold back floodwaters.

The board reviews the plan and decides these levees should be upgraded. The department then creates a timeline and budget for fixing them, possibly working with local and federal agencies to get it done.
