§ 8996 Reclamation Easement Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about giving permission to use someone else's land for big projects like building dams or drainage systems.
  • •The land can only be used if it's really needed for the project to work.
  • •The project must be something the government or a special group is allowed to do by law.

Example

A town wants to build a big drain to stop flooding in neighborhoods.

If the drain has to go through a farmer's field, the town can ask to use part of that land. But they can only do it if the drain is really important and the town is allowed to build it.
