§ 8757 Land Benefit Assessment Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If a big project (like building a dam or roads) helps some land, the landowners have to pay for it.
  • •The cost is split based on how much each piece of land actually benefits from the whole project.
  • •You only pay for the part of the project that helps your land, not the whole thing.

Example

A new road is built near a farm and a store.

The farm gets a little help from the road, but the store gets a lot more customers. So the store pays more for the road than the farm.
