§ 6467 Dam Construction Supervision

• •Dams or reservoirs that were at least 90% built by September 17, 1965, must follow the same rules as dams that were finished before that date.
• •This means older dams, even if not fully done by 1965, still get checked and supervised like the really old ones.
• •The law was added in 1965 to make sure these big water projects stay safe.

A dam that was 95% built by September 17, 1965, but not quite finished.

Even though it wasn’t 100% done by 1965, it still has to follow all the safety rules and checks that dams built before 1965 follow.
