§ 340 Yuba River Debris Control

Key Takeaways

  • •Money set aside for the Yuba River can only be used for one thing: cleaning up and controlling trash and dirt in the river.
  • •This trash and dirt can come from old mining, natural wear-and-tear, or other reasons.
  • •The money can be used to build new stuff, fix old stuff, or make things better to stop the trash and dirt from causing problems.

Example

After heavy rains, lots of dirt and rocks from old mines wash into the Yuba River, making it dirty and hard for fish to live.

The government can use the money to build walls or filters to catch the dirt and rocks before they mess up the river.
