§ 2550 Water Rights Investigation Process

Key Takeaways

  • •After someone asks for help with water rights, the board must check the river or stream.
  • •They look at how water is being taken and used, and how much water is available.
  • •They collect all the important facts to decide who gets to use the water.

Example

A farmer wants to use water from a river for their crops, but others are already using it.

The board will check the river, see how much water is there, and figure out who can use it fairly.
