§ 21928 Bond Election Multiple Proposals

Key Takeaways

  • •People can vote on different bond proposals at the same time if each proposal is listed separately on the ballot.
  • •Each project must have a cost estimate before it can be on the ballot.
  • •A special group (the commission) must review and report on these projects.
  • •The election notice must include all the proposals so voters know what they are voting on.

Example

A town wants to build a new school and fix the roads. They put both ideas on the same ballot for people to vote on.

The town must first figure out how much the school and road fixes will cost. Then, a group checks these plans and says they are okay. Finally, the town tells everyone about the vote and lists both the school and road projects on the ballot so people can choose which ones they want.
