§ 1536 Annual Fee Payment Rules

• •You have to pay yearly fees for certain things you file with the state.
• •If you don’t pay these fees, the state can send your unpaid bills to a special board to collect the money.
• •The initial fee when you first file something is not included in these yearly fees.

You own a small business and file paperwork to register it with the state. Every year, you get a bill for a fee to keep your registration active.

If you don’t pay this yearly fee, the state can send your unpaid bill to the State Board of Equalization to make you pay it. The first fee you paid when you registered your business doesn’t count as part of these yearly fees.
