Key Takeaways

  • •This law defines special words used in rules about drainage problems in the San Joaquin Valley.
  • •The 'Fund' is money set aside to help fix drainage issues in that area.
  • •The 'Management Plan' is a specific report from 1990 that explains how to handle farm drainage problems.
  • •'Retirement land' means farmland that’s bad for growing crops, has poor drainage, or causes drainage problems.

Example

A farmer in the San Joaquin Valley has land that floods easily and grows bad crops.

If the land matches the description in the 1990 plan, it might be called 'retirement land,' meaning it could get help from the special fund to fix the problems.
