§ 14065 State Bond Issuance Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •California can borrow up to $65 million by selling bonds to pay for things in this law.
  • •The money from these bonds can also pay back a special state fund.
  • •The state promises to pay back the money with interest, like a loan.

Example

Imagine California needs money to build new schools.

The state can sell bonds (like IOUs) to get $65 million. They promise to pay it back later with interest, just like if you borrowed money from a friend and paid them back with a little extra.
