§ 14032 Safe Drinking Water Bonds

Key Takeaways

  • •A special group called the 'California Safe Drinking Water Finance Committee' is created to handle money for clean drinking water projects.
  • •This group includes important people like the Governor and the Treasurer, or people they choose to represent them.
  • •The group can make decisions even if not all members are present, as long as most of them agree.
  • •The Department of Water Resources is in charge of managing the money for these projects.

Example

A small town in California needs money to fix old pipes so people can have clean water to drink.

The California Safe Drinking Water Finance Committee would meet and decide to use some money (bonds) to help the town fix their pipes. The Department of Water Resources would then manage that money to make sure the pipes get fixed.
