§ 13840 Repayment To General Fund

Key Takeaways

  • •If the state gets money back from a contract, it goes into the General Fund.
  • •This money is used to pay back loans (bonds) the state took out.
  • •The loans were used for things the state needed, and now the money is being returned.

Example

Imagine the state borrowed money to build a new school. Later, they got some money back from a project.

That money doesn’t go to the school—it goes into the state’s big money pot (General Fund) to help pay back the loan they took for the school.
