§ 13245 Regional Water Plan Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •Local water rules must be checked and okayed by the state first.
  • •The state can say 'yes' or send it back for changes.
  • •If sent back, the local group fixes it and tries again.
  • •The state can then say 'yes' or change the rules themselves after asking people in the area.

Example

A town wants to make a new rule to keep a nearby lake clean.

The town sends their plan to the state. The state can say 'good job' and approve it, or tell the town to fix some things. If the town fixes it, the state can then approve it or change it themselves after talking to the people who live there.
