§ 13221 Regional Board Subpoena Powers

Key Takeaways

  • •The regional board members can make people swear to tell the truth.
  • •They can also force people to come and talk or bring proof in their meetings.
  • •They have the same power in their area as the state board has in the whole state.

Example

If the regional board is looking into a problem with a factory polluting a river,

they can make the factory owner come to a meeting and bring records to prove they are not polluting. If the owner doesn't come or lie, they can get in trouble.
