§ 13165 Water Quality Investigation Reports

• •The state can ask any government group to check and write about things that affect water cleanliness.
• •The work and cost of these reports must be fair and not too much compared to how helpful they are.
• •This rule was added in 1969.

A factory is dumping waste near a river, and people are worried the water is getting dirty.

The state can tell a local agency to investigate how the factory is affecting the river. But the state can't make them spend a ton of money or time if the problem is small.
