§ 12697 Conn Creek Reservoir Project

Key Takeaways

  • •The law allows building a reservoir called Conn Creek Reservoir to help control floods and for other uses in the Napa River area.
  • •The plan for the reservoir follows what a group of engineers suggested in a special report.
  • •The state of California does not have to pay for this project.

Example

Imagine a small town near a river that floods every year, causing damage to homes and farms.

This law lets the town build a big pond (reservoir) to hold extra water when it rains a lot, so the river doesn’t flood. The town doesn’t have to pay for it because the plan was already approved by engineers.
