§ 11822 Project Operation And Maintenance Funding

This law says that any leftover money in a special fund must first be used to pay for running and fixing the project it was meant for.

Key Takeaways

  • •Leftover money in the fund can't be used for just anything.
  • •It must go toward keeping the project working and in good shape.
  • •This includes fixing or replacing things that wear out over time.

Example

A city builds a new park using money from a special fund.

If there's money left after paying for the park, it must be used to keep the park clean, fix broken swings, or replace old benches.
