§ 10801 Agricultural Water Use Efficiency

This law says California's water is precious and must be used wisely, especially for farming. It encourages saving water and planning carefully to avoid harming nature or other water uses.

Key Takeaways

  • •Water in California is limited and must be used carefully.
  • •Farmers should try to save water and avoid waste.
  • •Plans to change how water is used must think about protecting nature and other water needs.

Example

A farmer in California waters their crops but notices a lot of water is wasted and runs off into a river.

The law says the farmer should find ways to use water better, like fixing leaks or using smarter irrigation, so less water is wasted and the river stays healthy for fish.
