§ 10537 Regional Water Management Projects

This law explains what kinds of water projects can get support in California. It lists ways to save water, increase water supplies, improve water quality, protect nature, and manage floods.

Key Takeaways

  • •Projects must be part of a regional water plan to qualify.
  • •Saving water (like fixing leaks or using less) is a big goal.
  • •New ways to get water (like cleaning dirty water or storing rain) are allowed.
  • •Protecting rivers, fish, and clean drinking water are also important.

Example

A city wants to build a system to collect rainwater instead of letting it flood streets.

This project fits the law because it helps manage storms and floods while also saving water for later use.
