This law says that if a judge finds someone guilty of reckless driving or drunk driving, the judge must warn them that driving drunk or high is very dangerous and can lead to murder charges if someone dies because of it.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're convicted of reckless or drunk driving, the judge has to warn you about how dangerous it is.
  • •The warning says that if you keep driving drunk or high and kill someone, you could be charged with murder.
  • •The warning will be written down in your court records.

Example

A person gets caught driving too fast and swerving on the road because they had too many beers.

The judge will tell them that drinking and driving is super dangerous. If they do it again and someone dies in a crash, they could be charged with murder.
