§ 13552 Nonresident Driver License Suspension

This law says that if you're from another state and break driving rules in California, your right to drive here can be taken away just like a California driver's. If you keep driving after it's taken away, you're breaking the law.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you're from another state, California can suspend or take away your right to drive here if you break the rules.
  • •If you drive in California after your privilege is suspended or revoked, you're breaking the law.
  • •California will tell your home state if they take away your driving privilege here.

Example

A person from Nevada gets their California driving privileges suspended for speeding too much.

If they keep driving in California after that, they can get in trouble, just like a California driver would.
