§ 13351 Driver License Revocation Crimes

This law says the state will take away your driver's license right away if you're convicted of certain serious driving crimes, like causing a death while driving or getting multiple tickets for bad driving in a short time.

Key Takeaways

  • •Your license gets taken away immediately for serious driving crimes like causing a death or getting three or more tickets for reckless driving in a year.
  • •You can't get your license back for at least three years.
  • •You must show proof of car insurance to get your license back after the three years.

Example

If you get into three car accidents in one year because you were speeding or driving recklessly, the court tells the DMV, and they take your license away.

The DMV will revoke your license for at least three years, and you'll have to show you have car insurance before you can get it back.
