§ 12812 Employment Restricted License Probation

This law says that if someone with a regular driver's license is considered a careless driver, the DMV can give them a special license that only lets them drive for work or at certain times.

Key Takeaways

  • •If you get too many tickets or drive carelessly, the DMV can say you're a bad driver.
  • •Instead of taking your license away completely, they might let you keep driving but only for work or at certain times.
  • •The rules for when you can drive will be written on your license.

Example

John got too many tickets for speeding and reckless driving.

The DMV might give John a special license that only lets him drive to and from work, but not for fun or errands.
