§ 14014 High Road Workforce Data Reporting

This law requires the California Workforce Development Board to gather and share data about its high‑road workforce training programs, and it sets rules for who must provide data and when reports must be sent to the Legislature.

Key Takeaways

  • •The Workforce Development Board must collect and publish data on who gets training, what they learn, and their job outcomes.
  • •The Employment Development Department must give the Board any wage and employment data needed for evaluation.
  • •Grant applicants and program participants must provide all required information, and the Board must report to the Legislature by Oct 1 of even‑numbered years and again 18 months after final outcome data are available.

Example

A nonprofit applies for a state grant to run a tech‑training program for unemployed adults.

The nonprofit must give the Board all the information about who takes the classes, their wages, and whether they keep jobs. The Board then uses that data to create a report that is sent to the Legislature by October 1 of the next even‑numbered year, and a final report 18 months after the data is fully collected.
