§ 98173 Collective Bargaining Agreement Protection

Key Takeaways

  • •This law does not override any agreements made between the school district and worker groups before January 1, 2023.
  • •If there’s a conflict, the old agreements still count.
  • •The rules should be understood the same way as similar rules in other jobs.

Example

A school district and its teachers had a deal about pay raises before 2023.

This new law won’t cancel that deal. The old pay raise agreement stays as it is.
