§ 558 Telecom Interconnection Requirements

• •Phone and telegraph companies must work together fairly.
• •They can't pick favorites or slow down messages from other companies.
• •If their lines are connected, they have to share messages without delay.

If Company A and Company B have connected phone lines, and you call someone using Company B’s service.

Company A can’t refuse or slow down your call just because it’s going through Company B. They have to handle it just like any other call.
