§ 50502 Dissolution Election Notice Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If there's a vote to close down something (like a local agency or district), people must be told about it.
  • •The vote can't happen until at least 30 days after the first time people are told about it.
  • •This gives everyone enough time to know and prepare for the vote.

Example

Imagine your local school district wants to shut down because not enough kids are going there.

The school has to tell everyone in the newspapers or online at least 30 days before the vote happens. This way, parents and teachers have time to say if they agree or disagree.
