§ 4464 Propane Surcharge Exemptions

Key Takeaways

  • •The commission is in charge of finding the right operators and collecting extra fees from them.
  • •They can use a special account to fix any mistakes if they collect too much or too little money each year.
  • •Some propane uses don’t have to pay the extra fee, like for farming, small businesses, RVs, cars, single homes, small groups (less than 10), and swap-out tank services.

Example

A farmer uses propane to run machines on the farm.

The farmer doesn’t have to pay the extra fee because the law says farming propane is exempt.
