§ 373 Customer Cost Exemption Requests

Key Takeaways

  • •Electric companies can ask the government to not charge certain customers for some costs.
  • •This rule applies even if the government adds a special fee before a new power system starts.
  • •The government has to follow specific rules when deciding these requests.

Example

A small farm uses a lot of electricity for its machines. The electric company asks the government to not charge the farm extra fees for some costs.

The government can decide if the farm doesn’t have to pay certain fees, but they have to follow the rules in this law.
