§ 33013 District Change Notice Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can't change big plans (like costs, boundaries, or debt) without telling people first.
  • •They must post a notice about the changes and set a time for people to talk about it.
  • •They have to mail this notice to all property owners who will be affected, at least 30 days before the meeting.

Example

Imagine your neighborhood wants to build a new park, but the plan changes to make it bigger and more expensive.

The board can't just do it—they have to send you a letter and post a notice telling you about the changes. Then, they have to hold a meeting where you can say if you like the new plan or not.
