§ 30536 District Debt Execution Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •If the district borrows money (like bonds or notes), the papers must be signed the way the law says.
  • •If the law doesn’t say how to sign, use the same way as for the district’s bonds.
  • •The general manager signs all other contracts for the district.
  • •The board can change how contracts are signed if they vote on it.

Example

The district wants to borrow money to build a new school.

The papers for the loan must be signed the way the law says. If the law doesn’t say how, they sign it like they would for a bond. The general manager can’t sign this loan paper unless the board says so.
