§ 24534 District Publication Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If a law says something must be published in a newspaper, but there's no newspaper in the area, you can use a newspaper from a nearby county.
  • •The nearby newspaper must be one that many people read.
  • •This rule helps make sure everyone can still see important notices even if their area doesn’t have its own newspaper.

Example

A small town needs to tell everyone about a new rule, but the town doesn’t have its own newspaper.

The town can put the notice in a newspaper from the next county over, as long as it’s a newspaper that many people in the area read.
