If you own a lot of cars and have a bunch of money saved up, you might not want to pay for regular car insurance every month.

Instead of buying insurance, you can ask the government for a special paper (certificate of self-insurance) that lets you drive without it. But you have to show you can cover the costs if you cause a crash.
