§ 16810 Cost Feasibility Determination

Key Takeaways

  • •The board checks if the district can afford new public utility projects using money from its current utility services.
  • •The district must have enough money from its utilities to pay for the new project and all other regular expenses.
  • •If the money from utilities isn't enough, the project might not get approved.

Example

A small town wants to buy new water pipes for cleaner water.

The town board checks if the money they get from water bills can pay for the new pipes and still cover other town costs like fixing roads. If yes, they can buy the pipes. If not, they might have to wait or find another way to pay.
