§ 16809 Utility Acquisition Cost Review

Key Takeaways

  • •After a group studies a public utility (like water or electricity), they can check the findings again if they want.
  • •Or, they can just agree with the findings right away.
  • •This helps decide how much it will cost to buy or take over the public utility.

Example

A city wants to buy the local water company to run it themselves.

First, a group looks at the water company and writes a report on how much it’s worth. The city can either double-check that report or just agree with it to decide the price.
