§ 15531 Voter Petition Signature Evidence

Key Takeaways

  • •If you sign a petition or certificate, a notary or verification deputy must confirm it's really your signature.
  • •The big list of voters (great register) and the notary's confirmation are enough proof for these petitions.
  • •This rule is for all petitions and certificates covered by this part of the law.

Example

You sign a petition to get a new law passed in your town.

A notary must check and confirm that it was really you who signed it. The town will accept this confirmation as proof.
