§ 131280 Transportation Authority Termination

• •A county transportation group must shut down within 180 days after finishing all its listed projects.
• •It can only close after paying off all the money it borrowed (bonds).
• •The rule has been in place since 1986.

A county builds new roads and bridges using borrowed money.

After all the roads and bridges are done and the borrowed money is paid back, the group in charge must close within 6 months.
