Key Takeaways

  • •If you've worked in a government job for at least 6 months before new hiring rules start, you get to keep your job.
  • •You don’t have to go through a trial period (probation) like new hires.
  • •After the new rules start, you follow all the same rules as everyone else.

Example

A person has worked as a city clerk for a year. The city then starts using a new hiring system with tests and probation periods.
