§ 120227 Public Employee Retirement Contracts

• •The board must join a retirement system for its workers.
• •Most workers must be part of this retirement plan.
• •Board members themselves are not included in this plan.
• •Some workers might be left out if another law says so.

A new employee starts working at a government office.

This new worker will automatically be signed up for the retirement plan, unless they are a board member or their job is excluded by another rule.
