§ 105040 Board Meeting Conduct Rules

This law says every board meeting has to be run exactly the way the Ralph M. Brown Act tells it to be run.

Key Takeaways

  • •Board meetings must follow the rules in the Ralph M. Brown Act.
  • •The board must give advance notice and post an agenda.
  • •The public can attend and speak at the meeting.

Example

A city council wants to meet to decide on a new park.

Because of this law, the council must give people a heads‑up about the meeting, post an agenda, let anyone show up, and let the public speak before any decisions are made, just like the Brown Act requires.
