  • •The general manager must submit any proposed plan or change to the board.
  • •The board must hold a public hearing on the plan.
  • •Notice of the hearing must be given at least 30 days before, published and mailed to each city council.
  • •The hearing can be continued or postponed as needed.

Example

The city’s general manager wants to change the design of a new playground.

He must send the new design to the board. The board then sets a public meeting, tells everyone where and when it will be at least 30 days ahead, puts the notice in the newspaper and mails it to every city council in the county. If needed, the meeting can be postponed and rescheduled.
