§ 102282 Transit Facility Contracts

The district hires a private bus company to operate a school shuttle, or the city’s transit agency hires the district to run a new bus line that serves the city’s downtown area.

In the first case, the board contracts with a private company to provide the shuttle. In the second case, the city’s transit agency contracts with the district to provide the new bus line. Either side can start the contract, and the goal is to give people transit services.
